Ever thought about giving up on the old nine to five job and go at it on your own? I know I did for years before jumping into the business world with everything I had. I found out the hard way that this is not the easiest thing in the world to do. If you put all of your savings into starting a business then have that business fail you lose everything. This can cause an enormous amount of stress on yourself as well as on family members.
Before jumping in some of the things that might help you succeed is knowing what to do ahead of time. For instance if you are wanting to learn how to start a lawn service business you will need to know how to market that business, the legalities of running such a business, how to handle the money going in and out of the business as well as having the knowledge to perform the tasks of this particular type of business.
Just because you can perform certain tasks within the business does not mean you will be able to be a success. To be successful in your new business you will need to have more drive than everybody else you know. You will need to have perseverance. In fact someone that is far less intelligent than you that has more perseverance than you will actually do much better than you. Crazy as that may sound, it is the truth. Look around you at some of the people that are wealthy yet not super intelligent. This took me a long time to understand. I was smarter than most people, yet not succeeding like a lot of my friends were. Of course they all thought I was doing better than they were, because of my intelligence. This was very tough on the ego, so if your ego matters more to you maybe going into business is not for you.
